Mere saath has a feel akin to Abhijeet Sawant’s Mohabbatein Loutaaunga but impresses due to Sandeep Chowta’s new take on the sound of an otherwise done-to-death tune. Mhare des mein is a hybrid-Rajasthani folk made mod by Chowta’s pulsating rhythms. Deepak Pandit composed Yeh kaisa sounds better partly ‘cos of the filmi feel than the outdated Ishq ho gaya. Dhol dhol truly gives Sandeep an opportunity to be unconventional and he does great within Chowta’s techno parameters. On the recreated tracks, the Saagar track is impressive while Papa kehte hain bores. Not breaking new ground could be Sandeep’s debut undoing.
