Metro is Pritam’s finest effort yet – the composer gives us an excellent, themed soundtrack with the kind of sound we have come to love from Pakistani bands! Band Metro, as the CD sleeve calls the group, produces some truly wonderful stuff - KK’s stunning vocals Alvida & O meri jaan being the best! James gets a meaty rock’ish ditty in Rishtey and pulls it off in grand style. Adnan’s Baatein kuch ankahee scores mildly over Suhail’s unplugged version while Soham’s thoughtfully worded In dinon is equally captivating! The hyper-energetic Kar salaam rounds off the album perfectly! Hats off, Pritam dude!

Metro is again an excellent effort by Pritam. He’s just moving from strength to strength. Why rip-off songs, dude when you compose so damn well?

KK’s vocals in Alvida have left me spellbound. What a talent!

K.K has never got the due recognition for the talent he has. He has an amazing voice and what a journey from ‘Tadap Tadap ke’ from Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam to ‘Alvida’ from Metro. By the way Karthik, thanks but not thanks. I did get the music for Metro without your help.

In Dino seems to have been surely inspired from Ali Haider’s “Mera Naam Hai Mohabbat”.

hey karthick
what r ur views about originality of album metro?
as per my opinion till now only “in dino” n “oh meri jaan” r under question after hearin “oh meri jaan ” source i think itz absolutely out of place as except similarity in genre of song itz a diff track.
“in dino”: if u lookm at da song only da line”karle tu bhi mohabbat” is similar rest all is original work n in a interview pritam mentioned tht da catch line was suggested by anurag basu n he composed da whole song ovwer da catch line!!!!!!!!!!!!
note: if u look at da cover of “pyar ke side effects” after da song”is this love” they hav mentioned da name “aa-mi-manra” in brackets incidently itz also original name of da trck. what do u think is da motive behaind it?

waitin anxiously for your reply!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pritam’s comments from his recent interview with Subash Jha:

Answering charges of plagiarism, Pritam said: “Yes, there have been times when I’ve adapted from outside sources. Often I’ve been persuaded to so do by producers or directors. But I can’t only blame others. I’ve also adapted songs on my own initiative. But the endeavour is to always make the adaptation different from and better than the original.

“I’m glad my music is under scrutiny. It means my music makes a difference. I work very hard on a so-called ‘lift’ to make it interesting. I add my own melody and sound to it. So the credit can’t be taken entirely away from me. The origin of a tune is just a part of my job as a music director and an entertainer.”

As for the Internet watchdogs, Pritam said: “They keep the creative process alive and progressive. As for my controversial hit songs, aren’t they opening new avenues of business?”

Listen to Alvida reprise and then listen to Pink Floyd’s Wish you were here.

Also Baatein Kuch song has some awful similarity so something I am not able to catch.

Will try to hum the crap out of that song this evening to see if a bulb goes up.

  • raveessant: It's all about R R Boosters and Schumann Resonance...I did not like A R R's version of the 5th of Beethoven...I liked Dil Ka Rishtha...Muskura....Shan
  • raveessant: The humming tune in "Mastam" by A R R infringes Return to innocence even though it can be argued that it is an inspiration...
