Awarapan (Hindi – Assorted composers)

Posted by: Karthik In: Hindi OST

Awarapan is almost a Pakistani soundtrack! Roxen’s To phir aao is breathtaking no doubt, but three versions sounds a bit too much! Roxen lead Mustafa’s voice goes completely against him in Tera mera rishta, even though the track is pretty well arranged. Another Pakistani artist, Annie, brings her very successful bubblegum pop, Mahiya in the soundtrack. Its a simple and catchy track, only very predictable. Rafaquat Ali Khan’s Maula stays true to its sufi strains even as it strays into interesting guitar interludes in places. Awarapan is a notch below other Bhatt-production scores. So, what exactly is Pritam’s role here?

Keywords: Emraan Hashmi, Shreya Saran, Shriya Saran

‘To Phir Aao’ is a track by the Pakistani band Roxen. They released their album Roxen-e-Deewar 2-3 months ago.

The less said about Annie the better.

Tho Phir Aao is definitely not KK.

Nice soundtrack, especially consiering it was new to me. Nothing like “The Train” or “Life in a Metro”, but great nonetheless.

Woohoo! for a change, a pakistani band has been ‘inspired’ by a bollywood tune.

Flashback – 1963, Parasmani, L-P – ‘Woh jab yaad aaye, bahut yaad aaye’

Okay, only the opening line is similar, but if ‘Dhoom Machale’ deserves an entry on i2fs just for the opening two lines, then so does this track. Unlike, Dhoom machale, the opening line here is also the hook line of this song.

Have I made a fair case, Karthik?

  • Arumugam: Hey, that's intersting, came here to quote (nearly) the same as above. Actually I wanted to inform that "Koothadu Machi" was lifted from "Do Re Me" fr
