The singers in Hum raks should ideally generate a cracker, but both Sukhwinder Singh and Daler Mehndi deliver an uninterested medley. Kabhi kabhi is soaked with existential emotions but gets lost amidst that asinine dholak and the fusion Lodhi track fails to fuse anything significant. Sukhwinder borrows a few ideas from his part-time mentor Rahman in the inspirational Jab tak, in vain. Sukhwinder’s already over-exposed range does more damage to Sandesa aaya while Chala kaafila is perhaps the only track with a barely-listenable quality to it. Barely. Sukhwinder could perhaps focus on his now-defunct singing career.

  • Arun: There's also Bombay and Kolkata as part of the series. Definitely, a commendable effort by Saregama!
  • shriramece: "Thajam thajam" is outstanding! A blend of many raagas, I feel.... I can find traces of Reetigowlai, then Bhageshri & later Sriranjani! Wow... a g
  • Satissh: Karthik, I think this guy's albums don't deserve a review from you. There has never been a decent effort from him ever! Cheers! Satissh
