Karthik pitches his best in the slow and enticing, Arey rey, whose chorus pieces blend beautifully with the melodic phrases, while the rock’ish college-life track Jil jil jinga borrows mildly from Queen. The ballad-styled title song’s rock version has Naresh Iyer in top form with Mickey supporting him ably in the chorus and in the evocative backgrounds. O my friend is a mellow ode to friendship and Ye cheekati is a tad commercial, but predictably catchy. Shekar Kammula’s move from KM Radhakrishnan (despite Anand and Godavari!) to Mickey J Meyer seems to have earned him commendably interesting results!

Surprised to see this! Mickey J Meyer is an upcoming composer who has only composed for three low budget films before this one and each of them has some very good songs that have a fresh sound as far as Telugu films are concerned. Among those three I would rate 10th Class as his best work with the other two being Notebook and Pothe Poni. I have been waiting for this album for a while and he has matched my expectations. This film should get him bigger breaks. Now, I’m waiting to watch the film (am a big fan of Kammula).

When i heard the title song… i immeadiately started humming “journey home” from Bombay dreams..
both start in a similar manner though the latter part is completely different

Sai: I liked Notebook more than 10th class and Pothe Poni. More than Mickey, I listened to this because of Kammula. Mickey himself seems to be a huge fan of Rahman, as he says, in this interview.

  • shriramece: "Thajam thajam" is outstanding! A blend of many raagas, I feel.... I can find traces of Reetigowlai, then Bhageshri & later Sriranjani! Wow... a g
  • Satissh: Karthik, I think this guy's albums don't deserve a review from you. There has never been a decent effort from him ever! Cheers! Satissh
