Dum laga is a thoroughly enjoyable rant with the essential DU feel and appropriately conjured-up lyrics. Vedic Chants band mates Siddhartth and Suhas serve an ace here, as also in Sunidhi’s techno ditty, Sambhalo dil ko. Their third offering in the soundtrack, Labh Janjua’s Man moniye is however run-of-the-mill. Re-formed Agnee have two tracks to their credit here. Lamha ye is likeably Indirock and very Agnee. But the pick of the album is their semi-classical, More baanke sung incredibly by Aarti Ankalikar. Dil dosti etc’s soundtrack is a thematically engaging and delectable mix!

I am totally addicted the crazy flute hook in ‘Dum Laga’. The lyrics are great fun as well (frustrate hoke neeli filmein dekhte hain :)).

Absolutely. I love this soundtrack. Dum laga is great fun as is Lamha ye jaayega kahaan.

I noticed Joginder Tuteja’s comparison of More baanke and Laaga chunari mein daag’s Ehi thaiyya in his review of the latter. While I do like Rekha Bharadwaj’s unique vocals (Ishqa ishqa is a fantastic example!) Aarti Ankalikar completely rocks in More baanke. This song seems to be based on the same raag as Dil hai ki manta nahin’s ‘Mainu ishq da’…perhaps why I love it!

  • Arun: There's also Bombay and Kolkata as part of the series. Definitely, a commendable effort by Saregama!
  • shriramece: "Thajam thajam" is outstanding! A blend of many raagas, I feel.... I can find traces of Reetigowlai, then Bhageshri & later Sriranjani! Wow... a g
  • Satissh: Karthik, I think this guy's albums don't deserve a review from you. There has never been a decent effort from him ever! Cheers! Satissh
