Who wouldn’t mind getting recruited by Angelina Jolie? That too, when she’s named Fox! But, James McAvoy does, for filmy reasons. Mark Millar’s fraternity of assassins yarn, in its loosely-inspired movie avatar by Russian director Timur Bekmambetov aims to be a frenetic action feature but is only intermittently interesting. The eye-popping, bullet-bending action set pieces are far and few, and pale in comparison with another similar exercise in CGI enhanced mindless mayhem, Shoot ‘Em Up. Morgan Freeman reprising his sagely leader role doesn’t help either. The Matrix-like beginning and the plot twists towards the end are strictly functional. Pointlessly stylish!

Keywords: James McAvoy, Morgan Freeman, Angelina Jolie
