Music review: Yuvatha (Telugu, Manisharma)

Posted by: Karthik In: Telugu OST

Maa vooremo’s unruly vocals by Malathi are appropriately raucous, while Manisharma recycles his own boisterous Tamil Pokiri title song in Eelesi nuvvu. The title song’s ennui boredom in the tune and backgrounds is considerably reduced due to lively vocals of the trio, Ranjith, Rahul Nambiyar and Naveen. Where the composer really scores in Yuvatha is in the two well orchestrated, sonorous melodies – Yevarunnarani neekaina, with Hemachandra and Harini and Kotikokatila ammayi, with Ranjith and Rita. Both bear the trademark Manisharma sound and are very pleasant and breezy treats! In an otherwise flat soundtrack, these melodies really make all the difference.

'Kotikiokatilaammayi ' is delectable! Mani is really good in producing such breezy melodies. 'Ammaho' from Kantri comes to mind, among his recent ones.
  • Kotakoila song is so so so nice ! But it did remind me of some other manisharma song , possibly Shahjahan.

Neekaina is also nice. It reminds me of KR orchestrataion ( Possibly jala deepam song in Mercury Poovae).

I know ennui denoted "boredom".. but am not sure if "the title song's ennui in the tune......" hits the right notes grammar wise.. [:D] no offense meant
