Music review: A Wednesday (Hindi, Sanjoy Chowdhury)

Posted by: Karthik In: Hindi OST

Aping Pritam’s sound, Bekali’s dancy sound is monotonous while Bulle Shah is amateurish, to say the least, despite Irshad Kamil’s interesting lyrics. Jalwa has Shaan mouthing ambitious words in a terribly bland tune. Mahalakshmi Iyer’s soulful singing is wasted in Nazar lage na, with its outdated, meandering tune that tries quite hard to be a ghazal-like track. Parwazen too, just tries to be great, but falls much before it can reach anywhere. Legendary composer Salil Chowdhury’s son Sanjoy makes a poor debut in A Wednesday’s soundtrack – he seems to be trying ambitiously hard but his score doesn’t register at all.

Keywords: Sanjoy Chowdhury, Naseeruddin Shah, Anupam Kher, Jimmy Shergill
