Music review: Chandni Chowk To China (Hindi – Assorted composers)
Posted by: Karthik In: Hindi OST
Kailash, Paresh & Naresh serve an ace in the earthy S.I.D.H.U, peppered with lively lyrics by Kailash, but their other track, Chak lein de, despite all that techno-sound and inspirational theme, is passable. The other trio, Shankar Ehsaan Loy, get both their songs right – the striking title song with the right tinge of mock Chini and the honeyed melody, Tere naina, that grabs you immediately. Bappa & Bappi’s labored recreation, India se aaya tera, works solely for Taufeeq Qureshi’s brilliant percussions. Bohemia’s CC2C has Akshay rapping his life and is megalomania personified. The trios emphatically rock the CC2C soundtrack!
Keywords: Akshay Kumar, Deepika Padukone, Shankar Ehsaan Loy, Kailash Kher, Paresh and naresh Kamath, Bappi Lahiri, Bappa Lahiri, Bohemia, Indi-Chini bhai bhai

Nice Album. All the songs connect except for probably India Se Aaya Tera…a jarring note it is.
For me S I D H U and Tere Naina worked wonders..

Agree on Tere naina – for me, it ranks right up there, just below Achchi lagti ho from Kuchch na kaho!

Okay-ish album! S.I.D.H.U and Tere Naina are the best of the lot.

Ya I agree…Tere Naina has striking melody….be it Shankar’s vocals or Shreya’s fast paced girly voice…
unconventional and riveting..
I think it would be in your best picks for sure Karthik!!!!

Guys “India se aaya tera dost” sounds exactly like my neighbor’s car reverse tune! Was it a tune already created previously by Bappi Lahiri or what? Sorry if that is the case,i didn’t know that, but please tell me what that original tune is.

^^ It’s a re-do of Bappi’s ‘Mumbai Se Aaya Mera Dost’ from the movie Aap Ki Khatir (1971?).

just Tere naina works in this album for me….superb composition from Shankar,Ehsaan,Loy….Kailash Kher is in form with S.I.D.H.U the “naam hai sidhu” part kills the song for me.Bappi da come up with a needless compisition and if the situtation isnt a 70′s or 80′s disco the song will look sick on screen and it will be time to attend to nature’s call…

I am realy loving kailasa’s ‘chak le’. ‘Tere naina’ is another charmer. aksay’s tongue in cheek rap song is really fun.
A fultoo time pass album not be taken seriously.
