can u give more details abt this issue?
raja has composed many songs with the inspiration of western songs. but i don’t think that he has copied phil collins. Has that guy mentioned any song of raja which has been inspired from collins?

Hi Karthik,

Did Ilayaraja copied Phil Collins songs?
Someone in a telugu major new paper wrote that he copied lot of tunes from Collins. Do you have any idea?
He did not give details of the songs.

It is a serious allegation on Maestro. Could you please check it.

Fantastically composed for Bala’ script. Couldnta been better than this.Needs no elucidation, this is IR’s score.unspeakable.
Yet 1980 alike Amma Un Pillai’s prelude bears similiarity with ‘Maniyosai kaettu yelundhu’ which is not belied the essence of this beautiful song.
One-of-a-kind Maatha Un Kovilil is a rare element in the box. Its an unusual bit comes in Mudhu’ serene tone. Unavoidably brings the same feeling I mentioned for Amma un.
Kannil Paravai – by flavour of the season Shreya. Amazing. Coudnt escape the feeling that IR has applied ‘Kaatril enthan geetham’ between 2:17 to 2:25 and 3:48 to 3:58(End of stanzas).
Om siva om – Feeling like being in a morning in a temple.
Oru kaatril – IRs at his best. Pick of the album!!
Pichaipathiram-Madhu’s voice is more matured now! Well. Sindhu bharavi structure is awesome.
Best use of eastern instruments throughout the play. Howewer, its not made for usual movie plot. Purposefully , no song has been composed to generate the euphoria.
We already are aware of the kind of sequences where these numbers are gonna be inserted in movie.
I m afraid to have these in my player. I love to listen when alone in room. Satisfied. 5/5. Bull’s eye.

Ilayaraja has done a wonderful job in Naan kadavul. He shows interest in composing for challanging films. Bala has inspired him with his previous movies.That’s y raja has given such a soul haunting music in NK. Re-recording of this film is going to be good treat for all music and cinema lovers. Thanks for a honest review Karthik. I’m a regular visitor of milliblog. Happy new year !!

hi srinivas,
i have seen bala’s sethu,pithamahan.But not nanda(partaially). yes, i am eagerly waiting for his latest psycho(i think) hero.
As far as music is concerned, in this age also i am sure that a composer dont want to use ‘beats / Western music or fusion ‘ to make good music which suits for this kind of movie.Even i can see its the ‘respect of ILR’ which i can read in Karthik’s review not an ‘album Review’.Just my openion.
Is this movie also an 80 styled one?.Lets C.

Bala’s movies (Pithamagan , Nandha , Sethu ) and now Naan Kaduval are a diff genre in itself ….. The album is good in this context …

Racy songs with beats / Western music or fusion … will not go down well with the script .

The Album in itself if you dont consider the above yes is – outdated
