A R Rahman makes India proud!

Posted by Karthik

A R Rahman becomes the first Indian to win the Golden Globe for Best original music score, for Danny Boyle’s Slumdog Millionaire! Times of India report! Yoohoo!

Watch Rahman winning the Golden Globe!

  • Sriram

    Wohoo!!

He’d go down in History as one of the World’s best music composers.

With him Grabbing the Globes, am more than sure that AR would also win the Oscars.

Out of the World..All praise belongs to God.

congrats.. even though rahman has delivered much better than slumdog in the past.. hope he brings more fame to our country and his work is more appreciated

  • Divya

Yayyy !! Totally elated about this. It’s a great sign that ARR’s work is being recognized on a global platform!Wish he would grab the Oscars too !

  • SRINIVAS

congrats to ARR and hope …this is just the beginning ….this should help him in getting good projects and maybe a English album …teaming up with one of the american Singers ..

This only proves double standards of west, Rahman deserves this praise much earlier. In my opinion, music of Slumdog Millionaire is not Rahman’s best.

Maybe ARR deserves it for some other score ….or maybe there are others too …

Even though we say that Music has no language …the fact is it has ….Music from this part of the world is not that popular and does’nt get heard on the other side ….so cant blame the west ….

also do we have awards ..which we give to others ?

I’ve been a big critic of Rahman for his unconventional style of music not impressing me most times in the desi movies …but here in SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE ,Great Movie!! Excellent Music suiting the movie perfectly at all places. Definitely Rahman’s best contribution to a movie till date. People might say there were better ones of his like Lagaan.. Roja…swades…. But here the music adds value to the scene in the movie. Once you people watch this movie, You ll know why its his best! And I can say for sure, If not Rahman, no other Indian M.D could have produced such a music or any anything equal to this!

    Congrats Rahman on the win!

I thought ring ring ringa inspired from choli ke peeche kya hai , except that he done a great job. worth to grab golden glob . we proud of u ARR . Cheers

So proud of him! He deserves every music award there is! Hopefully, it means we get to listen to more Rahman collaborations with international artists in the future. I read somewhere Kylie Minogue’s gonna sing in Blue?

Also, when I was watching the awards live and when rahman hugged P. Diddy, i said to myself – It’ll be interesting to see Rahman and Diddy work on something together. Let’s wait and see!
