Music review: Alayodu Vilayaadu (Tamil – Sabesh Murali)

Posted by: Karthik In: Tamil OST

Have you ever heard of a whale that attained puberty? Samanja thimingilam offers that fascinating insight sorely missing from Animal Planet, complete with a sultry female voice. The bland reworking of a folk track, Yerunadhu; the Bombay theme inspired desolation in Yen saami; the even more ruminative Saamiya tholachutten; and the loud item number, Vada vada are all painfully annoying. The composers redeem themselves reasonably themselves in the expertly arranged Alaigalin, Kedaithathu’s likeable melody and Naan kadalora, a somewhat noisy but joyous tune, rendered very well by Prashanthi. Sabesh Murali turn in adequately respectable music amid front-bencher styled, utter nonsense.
