Music review: Life Partner (Hindi – Pritam)

Posted by: Karthik In: Hindi OST

With 5 singers, the weirdly short Aage aage is mindless in a typical Pritam way – some convenient rhythms and a non-descript tune. The strong flavor in Gunji angana mein works solely because of Sunidhi’s lively vocals, while Kuke kuke recycles Pritam’s numerous songs, but is still good fun, with a mock’ish medley of sounds. Poorza poorza is dreadful – completely devoid of any impact. Teri meri yeh zindagi is repetitively routine but packs in some punch in terms of a hummable melody, and Soham and Shreya’s vocals. Life Partner is the weakest soundtrack from Pritam in a long time.

Keywords: Fardeen Khan, Tusshar Kapoor, Govinda, Genelia Dsouza, Prachi Desai, Pritam

Is it just me or Is Soham trying hard to sound like Shaan in ‘Teri Meri Yeh Zindagi’?

I had such high expectations from Pritam working with Javed-Saab. What the hell happened, none of the songs have any impact what-so-ever, it’s so dull and uninspiring….

The title song, Aaja Nachle, is found to be an almost note-by-note copy of a much older Bengali folk song ‘Dada Paye Pori Rey’ made popular by Ansuman Roy.

Gunji aangan mein is borrowed freely from a Gujarati garba song – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WjMiYFcaz5k

Is it credited in such way?

Yes, Goonji aangan is credited as ‘recreated by Sachin and Jigar’.
