Music review: Dil bole hadippa (Hindi – Pritam & Joshilay)

With a name like that, it is natural to expect hardcore Punjabi tracks – and Hard Kaur does rap in the wholly trite Bhangra bistar! The title song is equally routine, but Mika’s enthusiasm and the catchy hook make up for the monotony. Discowale khisko is the track where things take a rude, headachy turn – must be dhol-overdose. Joshilay’s Gym shim is silly willy. Pritam manages some relief in the smartly-tuned melody, Ishq hi rab hai, a line credited to one Kumar Juneja! Dil bole hadippa’s soundtrack is hackneyed beyond relief –blaming it on the film’s theme alone is unfair.
