Music review: Village Lo Vinayakudu (Telugu – Manikanth Kadri)

Posted by: Karthik In: Telugu OST

The Kurinji raaga-based Muddugaare yashoda has been treated with an almost Rahman-like arrangement by the composer – the crossover arrangements adding a rich layer to the classical composition. Hariharan and Shweta’s Chinukai varadai is a pleasant listen, including a very Telugu’ish twist that is explored deeper in the much-mellow Theese prati swasa, while Karthik’s Neeli meghama uses its catchy rhythms to stunning effect, beyond the predictable tune. Benny’s Superman is pedestrian but the pop’pish Aha na, with Baba Sehgal is a joyous composition with tons of interesting sounds. Manikanth Kadri is evolving into a very interesting composer…to watch out for!

Muddugaare yashoda is Annamacharya Kriti. Yep his arrangements are awesome. But his earlier effort (Avakai Biryani) was better than this
