Music review: Aladin (Hindi – Vishal-Shekhar)

Posted by Karthik

Tak dhina dhin is Pancham all the way, with a punchy new sound to the boot, much like Bachke O Bachke, which has select portions of its tune in the Pancham genre, but the overpowering orchestration, well…overpowers the song. Genie rap is a considerably better AB-rap than what his bhakt-for-life, Aadesh, composes – that is not a compliment. O re saawariya too is Aadesh material with predictable vocals by AB. Giri giri has Sanjay girring down further, but the You may be is pleasantly breezy, with a gorgeous rhythm and some imaginative arrangements. Aladin is occasionally spunky and predominantly disappointing.

Probably I was listening to this album and thinking the same while you were uploading this review. For me your reviews are always spot on.

AB is ok but Sanjay Dutt and singing have only S in common. Sounds like largely disappointing soundtrack except for You May be…which is just superb.
