Music review: 3 Idiots (Hindi – Shantanu Moitra)

Posted by: Karthik In: Hindi OST

All izz well is no doubt funky and does a 2.0 version of Anu Malik’s pet sound (dhumpachikitha anyone?), but this one-hook-trick can only go so far. Zoobi doobi with its faux-retro-filmy sound is almost pedestrian with extraordinarily predictable sounds, while Shaan’s evocatively penned Behti hawa is perhaps the best this soundtrack has to offer. Give me some sunshine’s thought-provoking dialogs do little to salvage what is a standard, often poorly-sung track. Jaane nahin’s louder portion is the WTF musical equivalent of Parineeta’s Thodo Shekhar – Sonu significantly overdoing the feel! Shantanu does what he usually does, mindless of Aamir’ish expectations!

Keywords: Aamir Khan, Madhavan, Sharman Joshi, Rajkumar Hirani, Kareena Kapoor, Shantanu Moitra

I was really excited for this soundtrack, beyond Aamir Khan, because I heard the song “Kaash Yeh Pal” by Jal and it was labelled everywhere online as being from this film.

Really disappointing that a song I liked that much wasn’t part of it.

You could very well add another tag ’3 idiot songs’ to your post by the sound of it.. ;)

Aamir gets another turkey after last year’s mess with Ghajini.

You don’t get it.
This movie wasn’t made keeping in mindless fame.
All iZZ well is the only promotional track.
Rest all are situational/background material.

I wonder how Karthik missed to notice it.

Overall for listening ,rating 2/5.

The track “Give Me Some Sunshine”, from the film is heavily inspired by Bob Dylan’s “Like a Rolling Stone”…the intro and the parts in harmonica are unmistakably copied…Plagiarism prevails once again in Bollywood…
