Music review: Kehna Maine Yaad Kiya Hai (Indipop – Chitra)

The title song evokes mild interest due to its conventionally staid tune, while Kyun hamaare too falls in a similar bracket – predictable. Bas eik baat is marginally better with its ghazal-like sound, even as Chitra’s voice blends charmingly with the tune. Ho sake to mujhe is Anu Malik’ish, digging into a mild Latino feel and Hai tamanna is embarrassingly and forgettably 90s. The ghazal-feel doesn’t work in Mere aansoo, but the Vanraj Bhatia-style track, Tu hawaaon mein is the pick of the album. Composer Afsar & Sajid do not do justice to Chitra’s vocals and produce a poor album.
