Music review: Rann (Hindi – Assorted composers)

Posted by: Karthik In: Hindi OST

Jayesh Gandhi’s Remote ko baahar is plain ridiculous. Sanjeev Kohli’s thematic Rann hai is best suited as background material, while the two obviously catchy tracks – Amar Mohile’s Mera Bharat Mahaan and Imran-Vikram’s Gali gali mein – are utterly predictable. The rest – Besharam, Kaanch ke jaise and Sikkon ki bhook – are completely pointless. Ram Gopal Varma continues to insult composers by getting many of them for a single, multi-composer soundtrack in the guise of giving them an opportunity. He also treats the soundtrack like yet another marketing gimmick – as he has been doing recently. It doesn’t work, yet again!

Keywords: Amitabh Bachchan, Ritesh Deshmukh, Sudeep, Paresh Rawal, Mohnish Behl, Suchitra Krishnamurthy, Rajat Kapoor, Gul Panag, Neetu Chandra, Amar Mohile, Bapi – Tutul, Sanjeev Kohli, Jayesh Gandhi, Imran – Vikram, Dharmaraj Bhatt & Sandeep Patil

This is so Sarkar! A bit of 'D' touch to it. I quite liked the track promo but don't like hearing the song. He should've used The Mahabharat theme of Doordarshan cos Indian News Channel is so Mahabharat. It would've made sense.
