Vastadu Naa Raju (Music review), Telugu – Mani Sharma

Posted by Karthik

Hello Everybody opens with music strangely similar to Band Baaja Baaraat’s Tarkeebein, but goes on to become a standard, catchy hero-intro song. Padha padha goes massy, and even its hook is stale; much like the pointlessly recycled Sadaymiya. Olla has minimal, interesting techno arrangements, but the tune is awful. Nathone nuvvu forced pathos sounds more like a nursery rhyme, but the composer redeems himself in the last two melodies – Kalagane veyla, cleverly invoking Reetigowlai raaga, and Yedho yedho, a simple, masala melody that harks back to parts of Chitchor’s ‘Gori tera’! Mani and his melodies do the trick again.

Terming a beautiful song like “Nathone Nuvvu” as a “nursery rhyme” and “forced pathos” is being a bit ridiculous. Gosh! some respect for the song if not for the composer.

Err, there’s something called opinion! Respect for the composer does not mean everyone has to like every song of his!

I agree that u are indeed entitled to an opinion! But all I ask you is to be a little gentle with your criticism. I am not sure if that is possible as a music reviewer but please take a shot at it.

Depending on the song and also the composer, will try.
