Anaganaga Oka Dheerudu (Music review), Telugu – Salim Sulaiman, Koti, Mickey J Meyer & MM Keeravani

Posted by Karthik

Keeravani’s Ninnu chudani plays on stereotypes, but manages to occasionally impress, thanks to that prominent accordion. Salim Sulaiman’s Premalekha Raasene rehashes their Hindi style, but sounds brilliant nevertheless – scintillating sound and a catchy tune! The duo’s short Yodha theme too is lovely. Mickey J Meyer’s Chandamamala is a fantastic combination of a simple, lullaby-like tune and distinctive orchestration he’s known for; makes for a lovely listen! Koti’s Tarumukostundi samayam and Pralaya kalabeela are situationally noisy and outdated; the latter does have Geetha Madhuri’s impressive vocals, though. Despite multiple composers, Anaganaga Oka Dheerudu has an appropriately grand and likeable sound!

Its just me or did anyone feel that second half of second interlude in “ninnu choodani” feels out of context.

I liked Ninnu Choodani better, dunno why! Though i have to say Premalekha Rasane and Chandamamala do have beautiful arrangements. But Mickey J Meyer is surely capable of a lot more I thought!

doesnt the ‘yodha theme’ seem being inspired and improvised from Vangelis-Conquest of paradise?
