Dookudu (Music review), Telugu – Thaman S

Posted by Karthik

The title song is highly contrived, while Harris Jeyaraj’s undeniable harmonica stamp plays peekaboo in the lovely Guruvaram – the haunting melody is complemented by Thaman’s trademark chorus in the Zara zara phrase. Chulbuli‘s painfully conventional sound is offset by the groovy 80s Bollywood sound and rhythm in Poovai and the rollicking and catchy Dethadi. The best of the soundtrack is definitely Adara adara – a vibrant and unconventional tune with superb singing lead by Karthik, Vardhini and Ranina Reddy and delightfully innovative orchestration by Thaman! Looks like Thaman has figured how to catch our attention within commercial limits – smart!

Karthik, I think you missed to mention :-), this time thaman has avoided auto-tuning and gave attention to proper mixing of voice, sound..
