Jism 2 (Music review), Hindi – Arko Pravo Mukherjee, Mithoon, Rushk & Abdul Baasith Saeed
Despite its questionable origins, Ye jism makes for an engaging listen; it is too Bhatt’ish for comfort, however. Arko’s other two songs work considerably better – Ali Azmat carries Maula‘s searing pain wonderfully well, while in the pleasantly tuned Abhi abhi, KK is flawless and endearing even as Akriti lends wonderful support with her part in the duet. Mithoon’s Yeh kasoor is great showcase for Sonu Kakkar; she rules the highly tuneful song confidently. Rushk’s Darta hoon, with abrasive music, barely works. Hey walla, by Abdul Baasith Saeed is mundane techno-pop. Arko and Mithoon elevate Jism 2 to an appealing level.

Note: Shreya Ghoshal has tweeted that she has been wrongly credited as the lone female singer in Abhi Abhi’s duet version! And Akriti Kakkar has tweeted that it was indeed her, while Shreya has sung only the end portions of the duet version.
