Konjam Koffee Konjam Kaadhal (Music review), Tamil – Phani Kalyan

Posted by Karthik

Kaadhale is a lyrically rich (courtesy Arivumadhi) melody; Phani’s tune delivers gradually but assertively. Uyir thozha opens middlingly but holds an engaging anupallavi, ably helped by Keba’s guitar. The bluesy title song is interesting – vibrant vocals by Suchith Suresan and Snigdha Chandra and abundant support on keyboards by Fazil Sha. Sakkarakatti is a meandering and overdone melody, but its dance mix works better. Adi thaahira‘s lyrics (by Palani Bharathi) are cringe-worthy and its tune is outdated. The short I love you is no different. Phani’s sophomore effort doesn’t scale his debut’s (Pappu) heights but is a good listen nevertheless.
