Udhayam NH4 (Music review), Tamil – GV Prakash Kumar

Posted by Karthik

Indrodu‘s highly enthusiastic and energetic sound is addictive; Srinivas and Ramya deliver Vaali’s verses with verve! Gana Bala’s Ora kannala is earthy and thoroughly enjoyable gana, but made better by the composer in the arrangements. Vaa iravugal is high on techno, but with patchy vocals and tune. The soundtrack’s highlight are the two immersive melodies – Maalai pon maalai and Yaaro ivan! The former, with enchanting vocals by Bela Shende and SPB Charan is wonderfully lilting, while the latter has Saindhavi and GVP’s throaty vocals evoking fabulous sounds akin to a classy 80s Ilayaraja song! Short, captivating soundtrack by GVP!

With Yaro Ivan, i felt it was too cliched to be likeable – i mean how many times we hear the female singer trying to be melodiously husky :(
