Aaj laagi is earthy and a tad too simplistic, in Kailash Kher’s dependable vocals, backed by lovely sarangi. Aayi bahaar has extra punch in the orchestration headlined by sarangi to complement the Basant Bahar raaga. Sagar repeats the feat in Yaad saari, led by Kailash and the backgrounds working very well! Ronkini Gupta’s Kaise sukh is treated with zero-filminess and hence sounds oddly soprific in a film soundtrack, while Hakka bakka’s brass’y sound is middling. The soundtrack’s best is Mansheel Gujral’s soulful Dheeme re, with a beautifully engaging tune! A soundtrack as unhurried and low-key as Sagar’s choice of films.
